Breaking News about Pat Harney's Campaign

_______________________________________

Pat Harney of rural Iowa City was re-elected to the Johnson Country Board of Supervisors for a third term.

Pat is in his eighth year as a member of the Board of Supervisors and is looking forward to the opportunity to serve all the people of Johnson County for a third term.  Pat will continue to bring integrity, professionalism and responsible leadership to the board.

Pat’s leadership can be seen in his tireless work to assure that all county services are provided in a friendly, effective and time efficient manner. As the Johnson County Board of Supervisors Board Chairman in 2007, Pat’s leadership was instrumental in ensuring that Johnson County was able to maintain a balanced budget in spite of huge state funding cuts and unfunded state mandates. Pat believes it is very important, in these difficult budget times, that we must protect the taxpayers of Johnson County.

As your County Supervisor Pat will look for ways to continue providing the best human services possible, enhance the lives of seniors, protect our environment and the farm land of Johnson County.

Though many great things have been accomplished over the last eight years Pat feels there is still work to be done. The projects that Pat is involved in today as well as the ones he has planned for the future and the continuing opportunities to make a real difference in peoples’ lives is why Pat is excited about seeking re-election to the Johnson County Board of Supervisors.

Pat’s re-election campaign Co-Chairpersons will be Ted Pacha and Shelia Boyd.

Pat is 66 years old and has been married to his wife Jean for 42 years. Pat and Jean have two grown children, Dan and Brenda.
